DFW's Server Rules...
Written by digger69
Sunday, 22 October 2006

These are our server rules. Please do your best to adhere to them. These rules are put in place to give everybody a fair go and make playing on our server a pleasurable experience for all.

If you can not abide by them please play somewhere else.

Please Note: You may be kicked from the server when the server is full to make room for players that contribute to the upkeep of the server. Please don't take this personally. Contributors will always have priority with regard to player slots.

We have "Random Weapons Weekends". You may have a random forceclass at the beginning of any round played on the weekend. The scripts are random and the admin issuing them doesn't even know what weapons will be issued. No weapon requests will be granted and no "Random Weapons" scripts will be run during the week.

If you drop your weapon at the beginning of the round so to end up with two weapons you will be force classed a pistol. Do it again you will be kicked and/or banned from our server!

- No shooting M203 in the first 30 seconds and no drop shots or 203 spam.

A "Drop Shot" is where you line your aim point up with land mark or feature and fire the 203 knowing roughly where the round will hit without actually seeing the enemy. An example is lining up the 203 behind the assault tower or from a position near spawn and firing on a likely enemy position.

A "Spam Shot" is basically the same as the drop apart from the fact it is taken without using land M arks or features or is taken on the run. Like the "Drop Shot", the target is not seen. An example of this is firing from second or third pillars on the Bridge mission at defence car, tower or left hill and hoping for the best.

Basically, any blind shot (where the enemy is unseen) is not permitted on DFW's server and a pistol forceclass or ban/kick will be imposed on those that do it.

- AR covering fire is allowed.

- No abusive behaviour and please keep bad language to a minimum.

- Friendly fire should not result in a votekick unless the player was doing it deliberately.

- Camping is a fair tactic; assuming the game is going somewhere. Otherwise the assault team should do their best to assault and the defense team should back up their team mates.

- No glitches or hacks will be tolerated.

- No clan advertising. Recruiting, is fine, but spamming your details is annoying and not allowed.

- if you discover a glitch DO NOT use it, report it immediately to an on duty admin, suicide, or discard the glitched weapon/item.

- Using map glitches will now result in a kick. This includes side stepping against ledges so that you can shoot over but cannot be shot back.

- Our servers have been updated with the latest ban lists from our friends. These lists are constantly updated which means play fair! If you're caught on one of our friend's servers that's you banned from ours! For the ban to be lifted you will have to talk to them.

- Screenshots may be taken of your game; players not returning screenshots will be kicked.

- A large number of players are coming to the server without consulting their manual and the America's army web site. Please view these before going into the game or you may receive a negative reaction from players that the admin can't change.

- Double check you have a clean install of the game before entering our servers. Entering our server with modded files may result in a kick from punk buster. Always back up files that you mod.

- Weapon begging/asking the admin for weapon changes will be ignored. While other servers swap weapons around, we don't. We have our reasons internal and external, a big factor being our move to honor.

- Our bans are permanent. We do not time ban. Don't ask to have your bans lifted. The server is run primarily for mature gamers; we're not around to coach people through their adolescence.

- When you join our server the admin may change your team. You may want to be on the other team for whatever reason, however, due to balance issues this isn't possible. We strive for fair play and fair teams on our server; you may disagree with the decisions made however when joining be prepared to play both teams.

These rules may be updated at anytime.

Below are the rules of engagement set out in the overview.txt in your America's Army system folder. Anything not covered in our custom rules above is covered here. Anything not covered here is covered above.

Both sets of rules apply on DFW's server(s) at all times and any rule that can be applied to our TS (Teamspeak) server is to be applied. ie: Rules 4 through 8

RULES OF ENGAGEMENT (ROE)

The following is a list of common rules and regulations that
should be observed while you are connected to the Official
game servers. They deal with your user name, general
behavior and courtesy, and repercussions that should be
expected should you fail to follow these simple guidelines.

1. Attacking a team member is a violation of the Rules of
Engagement (ROE). If you injure another player you will
incur negative ROE points. Most servers have a limit
to the amount of ROE that is allowed. If you exceed that
limit you will be removed from the server and sent to
Leavenworth. To continue the game, you will have to
return to the server browser and redeploy your character.

2. All Players have an HONOR score, which is reflected next
to your playername on the scoreboard. Everyone starts
out with an HONOR of 10. Earning points will cause this
number to slowly rise over time. Losing points will
cause the number to go down. Since most servers require
a minimum of 9 HONOR to join, be careful when you play.
If your HONOR drops below the minimum, you will have to
play on a 'retraining' server to bring your HONOR back up.

3. Using flash or smoke grenades to disorient teammates is
not allowed and can result in the player being removed
from the server. The same goes for spamming chat or
voice commands, as well as standing in passageways to
purposely block teammates.

4. Bear in mind the following character restrictions in the
login name when signing up for America's Army:
\ / : * ? " < > | are NOT valid.

Using any of these characters will result in your game
not authenticating or saving correctly; in other words,
you won't be able to complete the training missions or
play online.

A name involving excessively explicit or vulgar language
may be warned and can lead to removal.

5. Any and all threats against the server, including
attempts to hack, crash, or flood a server, actual or
implied, are grounds for instant removal and can result
in legal action.

6. Derogatory language or slander involving race, gender,
sexual preference, religion or creed, including negative
use of otherwise harmless words will not be tolerated and
will be grounds for immediate removal, with or without
warning.

7. Excessively harassing other players is not permitted on
Official servers. A little healthy competitive trash-
talking is tolerable; however excessive comments directed
at specific players will be grounds for warning and/or
removal.

8. Impersonation of Server Admins, Development team
members, or other members of the Army staff or other
fraudulent use of an identification tag is grounds for
immediate removal from the servers . This includes
close spellings intended to deceive other players in
the servers.
